Switzerland wins sprint relay
The first JEC competition, a mixed relay took part in the alpine station of Villars-sur-Ollon on Friday. 64 teams were competing. The Swiss team could take a first victory in this competition. After three legs of four, France was still leading in front of Norway and Sweden, with Switzerland only fifth. But Simona Aebersold could catch the gap and pass the finish line 40 seconds ahead of Sweden and 65 seconds of Norway.
After the relay a regional event was held. 247 competitors run around the parks of the station. Andreas Rüedlinger was the fastest in the men elite class with a time of 19’53. His wife Rahel was the fastest in the women elite class with a time of 19’02.
